Melange Bench

The Mélange Bench is a contemporary steel-and-wood seating system available with or without a backrest (and optional armrests). It features flat steel plate supports, a tubular steel frame with hardwood slats, and a clever stainless steel plate that allows the bench to double as a bicycle rack—ideal for parks, plazas and transit environments. Available in two lengths (2200 mm and 3000 mm) with a standard seat height of 450 mm.

Mélange is a specification-ready public realm bench designed by Massimo Tasca, combining robust powder-coated steel supports with a tubular steel seat frame and interspersed hardwood slats for comfort and durability. The collection is offered in backless and with‑backrest variants, with optional armrests to support inclusive use and natural pauses in high‑footfall settings. A distinctive stainless steel plate integrated into the structure enables secure bicycle docking, making Mélange a versatile choice where cycle‑friendly features are part of the brief. Standard sizes include 2200 × 480 mm (H 450 mm) and 3000 × 480 mm (H 450 mm) for backless benches; the variant with backrest and armrests is listed at 2200 × 520 × 850 mm (seat height 450 mm). Typical weights are 105 kg (L 2200 backless), 140 kg (L 3000 backless) and 125 kg (L 2200 with backrest/armrests). Fixing is pre‑drilled for anchors to suit prepared bases in public realm projects. Finishes are powder‑coated steel with hardwood slats; two overall lengths are available to coordinate with layout and capacity requirements.
